Vandals daub graffiti on Truro Cathedral 'wall of kindness'

The offensive graffiti on the "wall of kindness" has now been painted over

Vandals have daubed anti-homeless and homophobic graffiti on a space in Truro where clothing is donated to people in need.

The "wall of kindness" is an area by Truro Cathedral where people can leave items, such as winter coats and sleeping bags, for whoever wants them.

It was defaced with offensive graffiti, which has now been painted over.

The Dean of the Cathedral, Father Simon Robinson, described the attack as "deeply disappointing".

He said the incident was being classed as a hate crime by police.

"It's very distressing that something which is about building community, was abused in this way", he said.

He encouraged people to keep on donating or taking what they need.

"The wall of kindness is here to stay," he added.
