A stretch of the A30 will be closed again from Friday evening for the weekend as roadworks continue.

The road will shut between Scorrier and Boxheater from 20:00 GMT on Friday 17 November until 06:00 on Monday 20 November.

Most traffic would be diverted along the B3285, A3075 and the B3277, with a longer diversion for high-sided vehicles, project bosses said.

National Highways urged people to plan ahead and allow extra time.

The closure is part of a major scheme to dual the road, external between Carland Cross and Chiverton.

The closure is required to carry out carriageway realignment around Tolgroggan, earthworks near Marazanvose and drainage work at Chiverton, National Highways said.

Lead contractor Costain was also continuing preparatory work at Chiverton ahead of the installation of a multi-use bridge as part of Cornwall Council's Saints Trails cycling and walking initiative, it added.

The closure follows several other weekend and overnight closures during 2023.

The last one took place between Chiverton and Boxheater earlier this month when traffic was moved under the new Marazanvose green bridge.
