The woman was found dead at the water's edge at Gyllyngvase Beach in Falmouth on Monday
A woman has been found dead at a beach in Cornwall on Monday, police have confirmed.
Devon and Cornwall Police were called to Gyllyngvase Beach, Falmouth, at about 10:50 GMT after she was found at the water's edge.
Police have asked for the public's help to identify her and her next of kin.
The woman was described as aged between 50 and 70 years old, about 5ft 2ins (1.57m) tall, white, of a medium build, with short grey hair.
Emergency services were in attendance at the beach on New Year's Day
She was wearing blue corduroy trousers, blue leather flat-soled ankle boots with zips, a big blue-coloured Quba-brand sails jacket and a red woollen top underneath.
The force said she had no obvious tattoos, jewellery or personal items to assist in identifying her.
