Future builders see Langarth Garden Village construction
- Published
Thirty construction students visited Langarth Garden Village to learn about the development.
The students from Truro and Penwith College, who are studying bricklaying and carpentry, were given an overview of the project near Truro.
More than 3,600 homes may be built at the site in the next 25 years, plus a primary school, parks and open spaces.
Engineering consultants Arcadis showed the students geothermal heating, a tree nursery and ponds to prevent flooding.
Charles Hill, from Arcadis, said: "We wanted to show the students how a project of this scale comes to life and how they can contribute to it in the future.
"We also wanted to emphasise the importance of sustainability in construction, as the garden village is committed to creating a low-carbon community."
