Police are appealing for witnesses or CCTV footage

Police believe a horse which was found dead on land near Gorran Haven was killed in a "deliberate act".

Officers said it appeared the animal died at some point between 17:38 GMT, when it was last checked, and 20:00 GMT on Tuesday 5 March.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed suspicious behaviour in the area, or who may have CCTV footage, to call 101.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing, police said.
