High winds and fallen trees close roads in Warwickshire
- Published
High winds have brought down trees and closed several roads across Warwickshire.
The A46 Stratford Road at Sherbourne and Henley Road at Claverdon were both closed after winds gusting up to 50mph brought down trees.
The A3400 was also closed between Tredington and Shipston-on-Stour after a tree blocked the road.
Andrew Savage, from the Warwickshire highways department, said crews were busy but coping with the incidents.
"We have 23 gangs out across the network and as soon as the incidents are reported we're getting gangs out there, clearing trees and getting traffic moving again," he said.
Tree surgeons working for Warwickshire County Council are also helping to clear the roads.
The council said about 16 incidents had been reported across the county since 06:00 GMT.
