The council said the new support scheme would support more than 2,000 businesses

More than 2,000 businesses will benefit from a new support programme, according to Warwickshire County Council.

The scheme also included eco-measures, with plans to help 180 businesses reduce their carbon footprint and save money on energy bills.

The authority said the scheme would create more than 150 jobs and protect more than 250 jobs.

The Business Growth Warwickshire Programme was worth £4.6m, the council added.

A spokesperson said 500 of the businesses to get the support would receive tailored help as part of the scheme.
