A "spinning turtle", slide and swings will be put in a village playground as part of a £75,000 revamp.

The equipment is to be installed at New Road Recreation Ground in Exhall, Warwickshire, in March and April, said Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council.

It would create a "fantastic children's playground that we can be proud of," the authority added.

Funding of £50,000 came from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and the rest from the council's playground budget.

The equipment by Wicksteed would include a new roundabout while the refurbishment would also see new paths built.

"Youngsters soon, and for many years to come, will be able to enjoy this great collection of outdoor play attractions," said councillor Ian Gutteridge.
