Two projects in Cumbria are competing for the best environment project award
Two Cumbrian conservation projects have been shortlisted in a competition to find the UK's favourite National Lottery-funded projects.
Fix the Fells and Save our Squirrels have been entered into the Best Environment Project category.
The awards recognise the difference that Lottery-funded projects have made to communities.
The winning project in each of the seven categories will receive a £2,000 cash prize.
Lottery funding is used by the Fix the Fells project to restore paths, prevent future erosion and train teams of volunteers to conserve the Lake District landscape.

Save our Squirrels (SOS) works across the north of England to protect the native red squirrel. Three squirrel haven areas have been created, including one at Whinlatter near Penrith, Cumbria.
Progression into the semi-finals is subject to a public vote.
All projects have already received Lottery funding and this cash prize is in addition to the Lottery money they have already been awarded.
Voting for the semi-finals ends at 1200 BST on 20 June 2011.
The three projects in each category, with the highest number of votes, will go through to the final round of public voting later in the year.
