Police warning to off-road bikers in Lake District

Illegal off-road biking is damaging important wildlife habitats in the Lake District, say Cumbria Police.

They have issued warnings to motorcyclists that their activity is not only illegal and dangerous but causing damage to agricultural land.

Local trail bike groups are backing the warning in order to continue organised events in the area.

A National Park spokesperson said it would "not be tolerated" and they would take action against offenders.
