Fell walker hurt in Blencathra 50ft drop

A fell walker suffered serious injuries when he plunged 50ft (16.5m) into a gully in the Lake District.
The 46-year-old from Wigan, was hurt when he fell down a ridge at Blencathra on Sunday afternoon.
A Great North Air Ambulance (GNAAS) doctor treated the man for serious leg and head injuries.
The Keswick Mountain Rescue Team then lifted him to safety and he was later flown to Carlisle's Cumberland Infirmary where he is stable.
A spokesman for the rescue team said: "As the weather had deteriorated, an RAF Sea King was unable to winch him from the scene.
"The casualty was lowered down by our team to the Sea King and then flown to Carlisle in a stable condition."
