A man who deliberately drove his car at a motorcyclist twice after a minor road accident in Cumbria has been jailed.
Ian David Bretherton forced Terence Chandler to jump over a garden wall for safety during the incident in Carlisle in May 2012.
The 44-year-old of Wordsworth Street, Penrith, admitted attempted grievous bodily harm with intent at an earlier hearing at Carlisle Crown Court.
He has now been sentenced to a three-and-a-half-year term.
The court heard that the incident was sparked by a minor accident between Mr Chandler's motorcycle and Bretherton's Ford Mondeo on Warwick Road.
Mr Chandler banged on the car window before walking away, but Bretherton drove at him.
He was struck by the car, suffering minor injuries, and escaped being struck again by jumping over a wall outside Botcherby Community Centre.
The judge also banned Bretherton from driving for four years.
