Park and ride at Whitehaven Festival

  • Published

A park-and-ride shuttle bus service will be in operation throughout this year's Whitehaven Festival to cope with an expected 200,000 visitors.

Coaches will run throughout the Saturday and Sunday, ferrying visitors from separate car parks north and south of the town to the harbour area.

This year's free festival - from 21 to 23 June - will feature performances by McFly, Sweet and Slade.

There will also be airshows, fireworks displays and food stalls.

Motorists can avoid the congestion by dropping off their vehicles at either the Energus car park in Lillyhall or the Innovation Centre at West Lakes Science Park.
