Kendal College opens animal rescue centre

A college in Cumbria has opened an animal rescue and rehabilitation centre alongside its teaching department.

Kendal College is thought to be the first in the UK to host such a facility, which will benefit students on animal care courses.

It has an operating theatre, and an intensive care room, as well as a cattery, an aviary and hedgehog houses.

First arrivals include a bearded dragon, an albino king snake, two gerbils, a swan, and four cats.
