Staveley storm-hit bridge: No temporary replacement
- Published
There are no plans to build a temporary replacement for a bridge damaged in December's floods, a council has said.
The structure linking the village of Staveley, near Kendal, with the main A591 has been closed for six months.
Its remains are expected to be demolished within the next three weeks and Cumbria County Council said preparation work for a new bridge would need access to both riverbanks.
Construction of a permanent single-span bridge is due to start in June 2017.
