A man serving a 12-year sentence for manslaughter who absconded from a Derbyshire open prison, has been arrested.

Ashley Squires, 27, failed to return to HMP Sudbury over the weekend of 21 August.

In 2006 he admitted the manslaughter of farmer Michael Boffey who died during the theft of a vehicle in Withybrook, Warwickshire, in August 2005.

Squires was arrested over the weekend in York, a police spokeswoman said.

Mr Boffey, 61, was struck by a Land Rover at his farm moments after Squires had tried to run over another farm worker.
