Nestle aims to move bottling plant in Buxton

A major bottled water producer wants to move its production facility in Derbyshire because it has outgrown its current location.
Nestle is planning to move its operations to the outskirts of Buxton to a more efficient bottling plant.
A public consultation will take place on the plans which include a pipeline link from the source in the town centre to the new plant.
The firm hopes to complete the move to the new location by 2012.
'Too old'
Nestle spokesman Matthew Beddoe said the move would bring the firm's Buxton water production and transportation facilities together in one location.
He said the new plant would reduce energy consumption by 25% and packaging by 20%.
The firm is currently hiring 14 new employees which will take its Buxton staff to 86.
"The current facility is too old and too limited for our needs and we need a new plant in order for us to remain competitive," he added.
