An IPCC team will be handing out leaflets in the hope of finding people who saw what happened

Leaflets are being handed out in an attempt to find witnesses to the death of a teenager who was hit by a train while being followed by police in Derbyshire.

Mitchell Rodgers, 16, was killed near Belper station shortly before 22:00 GMT on 28 March.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission has handed out the leaflets close to the scene.

Investigators were already reviewing CCTV from the area, it said.

The investigation was mandatory because Mitchell had spoken to officers immediately before his death, the watchdog added.

An inquest into the death of the teenager, who was a pupil at Denby's John Flamsteed Community School, has been opened and adjourned.
