Derbyshire homes left without water after pipe bursts

A water pipe on Bullbridge Hill burst on Monday morning
Hundreds of homes were left without water after a major water pipe burst.
The pipe on Bullbridge Hill in Ambergate, Derbyshire, burst shortly after 06:00 BST.
Homes in areas of Belper, Ripley and Allestree were left without water for several hours, and the road was closed by police.
Severn Trent Water engineers were sent to the scene to fix the damaged pipe and water supplies were restored shortly before 14:00 BST.
The company said it had received reports from more than 700 homes who had been without water, however the number of homes affected could have been much higher.
A spokesman said engineers had diverted water around the network to get supplies back up quickly for residents.

Severn Trent previously apologised to customers "for the inconvenience to anyone affected by the burst pipe this morning as we know how important it is to have water right now".
"Our teams will now focus on fixing the pipe and getting everything back to normal," it said.
