Markeaton Park: Madness and Tom Jones to play city festival

Madness, Tom Jones and Rick Astley have been named on the line-up for a summer festival due to be held in Derby's Markeaton Park.

Summer Sessions is due to take place at the city attraction from 12-14 July.

Becky Hill, Gabrielle and Lightning Seeds have also been named among the performers.

The festival is being held at several locations over the summer months, including Bedford, Plymouth and Southampton.

About 15,000 tickets will be available for the event, the festival's website states.

Nadine Peatfield, Derby City Council's cabinet member for culture, said: "We're always looking to bring a varied and exciting range of events to our vibrant city and Markeaton Park's idyllic open spaces make it an ideal location.

"We look forward to welcoming the Summer Sessions to Derby for what promises to be a fantastic addition to our 2024 calendar."
