Plans have been unveiled for a new multi-storey car park close to Derby's Pride Park Stadium.

The owners of the new £46m St Modwen Park at the Wyvern have submitted an application to build a new 480-space multi-storey car park within its new business park.

There is also the possibility of a ground level car park nearby, allowing for another 400 vehicles.

The city council hopes to make a final decision on the plans by March 2024.

The Local Democracy Reporting Service has said the new St Modwen business park is still undergoing major construction with the first couple of phases of work almost complete.

Permission is also being sought to build a pedestrian footbridge "which will cross the adjacent railway line, in order to provide a footpath connection with the Rolls-Royce [Raynesway] plant".

A planning statement said the plans would compliment the major development at Raynesway as it would provide additional parking for use by potential extra Rolls-Royce employees.

It adds: "The car park and footbridge are required as part of a major investment required to expand and refurbish facilities at the Rolls-Royce Raynesway site.

"The wider development at Raynesway, which is currently being determined, will create approximately 1,170 additional operational jobs at the site."
