Mam Tor: Man rescued after getting stuck on Peak District hill face

A walker has been rescued after he got stuck on the face of a hill in the Peak District.
Edale Mountain Rescue Team said it was called on Saturday at 14:11 GMT after another hiker spotted the man going on to unstable ground on Mam Tor, Derbyshire.
The man had not moved position for 45 minutes before he was rescued.
The team warned people to steer clear of straying on to the hill's face or the surrounding steep ground.
"A fellow walker had spotted the gentleman making his way on to the unstable ground of the face, before seemingly becoming crag-fast," rescuers said, which meant he was stuck on the crag.
Volunteer rescuers were rapidly on the scene, with one of them remaining at the foot of the crag to get eyes on the casualty, the team added.
"A further team member was able to access the face from the ridge at the side and walk to the casualty's position," the team said.
"With some coaching and a confidence rope, the casualty was walked to safety and escorted off the hill."
"This is the second incident within the space of a few months, in an almost identical position," rescuers added.
"Mam Tor face is very unstable, and not a place to go exploring. The risk of becoming stuck, or falling is very high.
"There are numerous spots nearby where fantastic views of the face and surrounding area can be had without putting yourself or others in danger."
