Police have named a woman whose death prompted a murder investigation in Derby.

Claire Richards, 44, was found with head injuries in Bass Street at 07:30 GMT on Wednesday, and died shortly afterwards in hospital.

Derbyshire Police said officers were called to a report Ms Richards had been assaulted.

The force said two men, aged 47 and 49, had been arrested on suspicion of murder.

The 47-year-old has been released on bail pending further inquiries, while the 49-year-old was released with no further action.
