Mountain rescuers save walker injured in the Peak District

Mountain rescue teams were called in to help an injured man high up in the Peak District.
A group of walkers found an injured man, who had slipped while ascending the Crowden Clough scramble slope, near Edale, just before 13:00 GMT on Thursday.
The group raised the alarm to East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS).
But due to poor mobile phone signal, the exact location of the injured man was difficult to pinpoint.
Rescuers from Kinder and Buxton Mountain Rescue Teams - two of the seven volunteer rescue groups that operate within the Peak District - were called in to assist EMAS paramedics just after 14:00.
Alan Howarth, deputy team leader at Kinder Mountain Rescue Team, said: "The walker who reported the incident had minimal phone signal, so we were unable to gain any further information for some time.
"The casualty was carried down to the waiting ambulance in Edale by members of both teams.
"The team would like to thank the passing walker who initially helped the casualty and then raised the alarm."
EMAS could not confirm the details or severity of the patient's injury, but said he was transported to Sheffield Northern General Hospital.
