Totnes school considers bringing back uniforms
- Published
A school in Devon is considering re-introducing uniforms.
King Edward VI Community College in Totnes, also known as KEVICC, abolished its uniform dress code in 2003.
It is looking into bringing back uniforms after a recent report to governors suggested the school was sometimes perceived as "a scruffy place with scruffy students".
The school said it was waiting until it received the results of a consultation before it made any decision.
Parents raised concerns when the uniform code was first abolished, claiming pupils would be more inclined to misbehave outside school if they were not identifiable.
They also feared there could be more pressure on parents to buy designer labels.
