Two arrests after man seriously assaulted in Torquay

A section of the town has been cordoned off following the attack
Two people have been arrested after a serious assault in Torquay in the early hours.
A man in his 30s suffered lacerations to his back and head in the attack.
Devon and Cornwall Police said the man was taken to hospital with injuries not currently believed to be life-threatening.
A cordon is in place and police said the Lymington Road junction with Castle Circus would remain closed until further notice.

Forensic officers were spotted carrying out inquiries at the scene
A spokesperson for the force said: "Members of the public can expect to see a large police presence in the area while inquiries continue.
"We do not believe there is any wider risk to the public at this time."
