Man seriously injured in early-hours assault in Plymouth

A 21 year-old man was left with potentially life-changing injuries after an assault in the early hours of Saturday, police have said.

Devon and Cornwall Police said a 21-year-old man has been arrested, and the victim remains in hospital.

Emergency services were called to Cornwall Street in Plymouth at 03:35 GMT on Saturday.

The man was arrested on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm, and causing grievous bodily harm without intent.

He has been released pending further inquires and anyone with information is urged to contact police.
