Crash on A38 near Marsh Mills in Plymouth causes delays

The A38 in Plymouth is closed near Marsh Mills

Motorists faced severe delays in Plymouth after a crash between a lorry and a car on the main road out of the city.

The crash took place in the Exeter-bound lanes of the A38 near Marsh Mills at about 13:15 GMT.

Devon and Cornwall Police said the driver of the car had been extracted from the vehicle but their injuries were not thought to be serious.

The driver of the lorry was uninjured, the force added.

National Highways said both vehicles were recovered by about 15:15 and the road had fully reopened.

Plymouth Highways said on X, external traffic was "very heavy" between Marsh Mills and Deep Lane.
