Firefighters had to shuttle water from the nearest hydrant to a tractor blaze in Devon

Firefighters had to overcome logistical issues while dealing with a tractor blaze in Devon.

Crews from Devon and Somerset Fire Service were called out to Petton Cross, near Shillingford, on Wednesday.

Firefighters from Bampton and Dulverton said they had to contend with no nearby water supply along with the flames.

Water ended up being shuttled between the nearest hydrant and the scene of the fire, which was caused accidentally.

A Facebook post from Bampton Fire Station said their crew found the tractor and trailer "well alight" at the scene.

Firefighters said the tractor's owner had managed to uncouple the trailer before significant damage was caused.
