Two new police station front desks have opened in Honiton and Ilfracombe to allow people to report crime or ask for help.

The desks opened on Monday as part of a campaign by Devon and Cornwall Police to be more accessible to the public.

People will be able to use the walk-in service to speak to trained staff from Monday to Saturday.

Police and Crime Commissioner Alison Hernandez said the police inquiry offices were "places of safety".

The desks will be open from 10:00 to 15:00 GMT.

Ms Hernandez announced inquiry offices would also open in Exeter city centre, Ivybridge, Liskeard and Tavistock.

She said she was "hugely grateful to see the impact this investment has made in our communities, whose contribution via taxation has made it all possible".

It will bring the total number of police front desks open to the public across Devon and Cornwall to 27 by 2025.
