Twenty-eight new bike parking spaces are available in Exmouth.

East Devon District Council (EDDC) said the spaces were by the RNLI lifeboat station and in two locations in Phear Park.

Councillor Marianne Rixson, portfolio holder for climate action and emergency response, said EDDC was keen to support cyclists "with safe and secure cycle parking".

EDDC added it aimed to "encourage active travel among residents".

Ms Rixson said: "With our declaration of the climate emergency, external, providing facilities to allow people to travel in a low carbon way is important.

"We know there is an active cycling community locally and we are keen to support them with safe and secure cycle parking."
