Bournemouth and Poole hospital trusts merger to be discussed

Plans to merge two hospital trusts in Dorset are being discussed at a public meeting.

Poole Hospital and Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals NHS foundation trusts plan to join forces.

A consultation on the plans is running until 25 April and the trusts are asking people how they want to see the new organisation run and managed.

Residents can find out more about the plans at a meeting at the Christchurch Council Chambers on Wednesday evening.

More public meetings will be held across Poole, Bournemouth and Christchurch over the next 12 weeks.

The trusts are asking for views on the structure of the new organisation's council of governors and board of directors and a name for the new trust.

There are no plans to close hospitals or change clinical services.
