A man killed at his Bournemouth flat died after being stabbed repeatedly in the chest, an inquest has heard.

The body of Spanish student Sergio Retamar Marquez, 23, was found after police were called to his flat in Lansdowne Road on Tuesday.

A Bournemouth man, 29, was arrested on suspicion of murder then bailed and transferred to a mental health unit.

Coroner Mr Sheriff Payne adjourned the Bournemouth inquest while a murder investigation continues.

'Killer was known'

The student's body was identified by his uncle Miguel Marquez Torres.

Mr Marquez knew his killer, said a Dorset Police spokesman.

Police said a man was seen running away from the scene along Holdenhurst Road in the direction of Bournemouth railway station.

A man was arrested on Beechey Road.

Det Insp Stewart Balmer said the town centre would have been "very busy" at the time. He appealed for witnesses to come forward.
