Man shot dead in Boscombe in 'planned' attack

A 21-year-old man shot dead at a property in Bournemouth was killed as part of a premeditated and targeted attack by a number of people, police believe.

Dorset Police launched a murder inquiry following the discovery of the man's body at an address in Roumelia Lane in Boscombe on Wednesday.

The victim, a 21-year-old man from London, had a gunshot wound.

A 22-year-old man has been arrested, Dorset Police said.

The victim has not been formally identified but next of kin have been notified.

"We are still investigating the circumstances of this death but I believe this was a pre-planned and targeted attack by a number of offenders," said Det Ch Insp Kevin Connolly.

"We are following various lines of inquiry in an extensive investigation and have arrested a 22-year-old man in connection with this incident who is helping us with our inquiries.

"I would like to reassure the local community that there is no immediate concern for the safety of the public."
