Alexys Brown was pronounced dead at hospital after being freed from the lift by firefighters
A housing group and a lift company are to face charges over the death of a five-year-old girl who died when her head became stuck in a lift.
Alexys Brown died in hospital after being freed from the lift at Emmadale Close, Weymouth, on 13 August 2015.
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) said it was prosecuting merged Synergy Housing Limited and Aster Property Limited, as well as Orona Limited.
They are due at Weymouth Magistrates' Court on 16 February.
The HSE said it was prosecuting the firms for breaches of Section 3(1) of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
Alexys, also known as Lexi, died of neck and face injuries after becoming trapped between part of the lift and the ground floor ceiling, coroner Sheriff Payne previously told an inquest.
