Portland search for snorkeller Oscar Montgomery continues

Efforts are continuing to find a teenager who went missing while snorkelling off the Dorset coast.

Oscar Montgomery, 17, was last seen near Church Ope Cove, Portland, at about 17:00 BST on Wednesday.

Helicopters from the coastguard, the navy and police, along with RNLI lifeboats and two navy warships, were initially involved in the search.

Dorset Police said it was carrying out searches along the coastline involving both foot patrols and divers.

Two coastguard aircraft and rescue boats from cruise ships moored in Weymouth Bay joined the search on Thursday.

The coastguard said its search had been "suspended, pending further information" on Thursday evening.

Police said Oscar, from the Birmingham area, was wearing a wetsuit, black flippers and a black snorkel.
