Dorset Council's Facebook page restored after being removed

A local authority's Facebook page has been restored after "disappearing" for more than a week.
Dorset Council previously said the page had gone "without warning or explanation", external on 15 June.
It said "numerous" attempts had been made to resolve the issue and contact Facebook's parent firm Meta, but it had been unable to establish the problem.
The council confirmed Meta has now reviewed the problem and said "the page shouldn't have been taken down".
A Dorset Council spokesperson added: "They have restored everything as it was and apologised for any inconvenience caused."
In a statement, the authority previously stated its Facebook page was "an important communications and engagement channel, with over 33,000 followers on the page when it vanished".
The authority spokesperson thanked members of the public for their "patience and understanding" regarding the issue.
