'Dramatic' landslide at popular Dorset beach

No-one was injured in the landslip at Lulworth Cove

A large section of cliff has collapsed on to a popular beach on the Jurassic Coast in Dorset.

The landslip at Lulworth Cove happened at about 13:30 GMT and was preceded by smaller rock falls.

No-one was injured but onlookers described cracks gradually appearing in the cliff before the "dramatic" landslide.

It follows a major landslip at the same cove earlier this year, which occurred after days of heavy rainfall.

Richard Mower, who was at the scene, described it as "very dramatic, but sad at the same time".

He said: "I think all the rain has loosened the cliff and we just sat there as cracks in the cliff appeared and we just knew it was going to give."
