Van driver hurt in Sherborne school coach crash

A man was hurt when the van he was driving crashed into the side of a coach carrying school children.

It happened on Bradford Road in Bradford Abbas near Sherborne, Dorset, at about 08:15 GMT.

South West Coaches Ltd said paramedics had checked over the children who were "fine" along with the coach driver.

Dorset Police said the van driver sustained injuries which were not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

The spokeswoman for the coach firm said the children had been on their way to The Gryphon School in Sherborne.

She added after "paramedics had checked them all over - we arranged another coach, it picked them all up and they went their way to school".

The Gryphon School confirmed no students were injured and all pupils had arrived on the replacement coach.
