The crash, involving three cars, happened shortly before 17:00 GMT on 1 December near the junction with Marl Lane.

In a previous statement, Ms Avis's family said she was an "amazing single mum" who "lived her life by her three children".

A stranger, Hannah O'Connor from Sherborne, set up an online fundraiser for the family which raised more than £11,000.

Ms O'Connor said the money was for the funeral and Ms Avis's children - a boy, then aged three, and two girls, aged four months and nine.

The stretch of road near Marl Lane has seen other fatal crashes, including the deaths of an elderly couple in 2020 and a car driver who was in a collision with a lorry, external in February 2024.
