An 87-year-old man taken to hospital following a fatal crash in Essex on 7 February has died in a care home.

Colin Horsfall, from Colchester, died on Friday 13 May. He was driving a Vauxhall car that mounted the pavement in Head Street, injuring three girls.

Student Cassie McCord, 16, died later of the injuries she received.

Police investigating the crash are continuing to prepare a report for the coroner for an inquest hearing to be held in due course, a spokesman said.

The McCord family and several witnesses have been informed by police of the man's death.
