Suzanne Brown's family said she was "dearly loved"

A man has been charged with murdering a woman who was stabbed in Essex.

Suzanne Brown, 33, was found unconscious at an address in Mountbatten Court, Braintree, just before 00:20 GMT on 16 December and died at the scene.

A post-mortem examination found the preliminary cause of death was stab wounds.

Jake Neate, 36, of Mountbatten Court, appeared before Chelmsford magistrates and was remanded in custody.

He will appear at Chelmsford Crown Court on Tuesday.

Ms Brown's family described her as "a dearly loved daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece and auntie".
