A fugitive due to be extradited to the United States has been re-bailed after he was arrested in connection with a rape allegation.
Nicholas Rossi was arrested in October in relation to an alleged incident in Chelmsford, Essex in 2017.
He answered bail on Wednesday and has been re-bailed until 21 March while inquiries continue.
The 36-year-old is due to be sent to the US to face charges there after an order was signed in Scotland.
An Essex Police spokesperson said: "Officers investigating a non-recent allegation of rape arrested and questioned a 36-year-old man.
"The report was made to us in April 2022.
"Since the report was made, we have been in consistent contact with all appropriate authorities in order to interview a suspect who has been subject to separate ongoing legal proceedings.
"On Wednesday 11 October, a 36-year-old man was arrested and interviewed."
