Essex Police officers find cannabis farm in Chigwell

Police officers estimate there were 350 cannabis plants being grown inside the address

Police officers have discovered a "significant" cannabis farm while investigating a burglary.

Essex Police said it was called to reports of suspicious activity in High Meadows, Chigwell, Essex, on Sunday morning.

The force had been told that a group of men were seen running out of an address shortly before 05:15 GMT.

Upon arrival officers found 350 cannabis plants at various stages of growth, a police spokesperson said.

Inquiries into the discovery were ongoing and the police have encouraged any witnesses to get in contact.
