Video shows street and people's drives submerged by floodwater after heavy rain.

The footage filmed on Tuesday night was posted by Essex Fire and Rescue Service on social media.

An accompanying post said: "Persistent rain meant our control room, firefighters and officers dealt with more than 70 incidents between Tuesday at 17:00 BST and 09:00.

"In one incident, crews rescued six people from properties in Stapleford Abbots."

The force urged people to care on the roads and avoid floodwater.
