The new Dean of Gloucester has been officially appointed.

Reverend Canon Stephen David Lake's appointment follows the resignation of the Very Reverend Nicholas Ayles Stillingfleet Bury in October.

Mr Lake, 47, had been Canon Residentiary and Sub-Dean of St Albans Cathedral since 2001.

He is married with three children, a trustee of the Scout Association, and is a keen hill walker and supporter of Tottenham Hotspur.
