Cheltenham residents to pay for waste collections

  • Published

People in Cheltenham will have to pay for garden waste to be collected from next week.

Until now, households have had to buy a green bag to put out the waste, which was collected every fortnight.

But from Monday people wanting the service must pay an annual fee of £36 to have the rubbish collected from their new brown wheelie bins.

The borough council says the new system is fairer as those who do not use it will not be subsidising those who do.
