The management of the Cotswold Water Park Society has been officially handed over to a charitable organisation.

Two bosses of the Cotswold Water Park Society, which previously ran part of the park, were arrested for alleged fraud in April.

The new Cotswold Water Park Trust has now taken over the running of part of the tourist attraction and conservation area.

All the members of the old society have resigned.

A new board of seven trustees has been formed, including two of the Cotswold Water Park Society's former trustees.

The society ran part of the 42 sq mile site, which has 150 lakes, on the Gloucestershire-Wiltshire border, as a tourist attraction and conservation area.

Last month Dennis Grant, who was chief executive of the Cotswold Water Park Society, was charged with six offences of fraud by false representation and obtaining a money transfer by deception.

Mr Grant, 63, of Banbury, Oxfordshire, was arrested last year alongside former finance director Nick Hanson, who later died of a heart attack.
