Rod Hansen made Gloucestershire Deputy Chief Constable

Mr Hansen started his police career in 1988 with Avon and Somerset Constabulary

Gloucestershire Police has appointed Rod Hansen as the new Deputy Chief Constable after what it said was a "rigorous selection process".

Chief Constable Suzette Davenport praised Mr Hansen's "depth of experience in policing and extent of his collaborative working".

Mr Hansen is currently Assistant Chief Constable for Avon and Somerset Police.

He has responsibility for specialist operations, headquarters CID and the intelligence directorate.
