Police have arrested a man on suspicion of murdering a builder from the Forest of Dean in 2002.

Last week, four men from Gloucestershire were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder over the death of 32-year-old Shaun James.

The 60-year-old from Cinderford arrested on suspicion of murder was detained just before 05:45 BST.

Police believe father-of-two Mr James was kidnapped and then run over in Cinderford on 15 December 2002.

The four men arrested last week - a 53-year-old from Cheltenham and three men aged 63, 51 and 46 from Cinderford, have been bailed to return to police in May.

Detectives investigating the case in 2002 believed Mr James' death was a hit and run accident but failed to find the driver.

When the case was reopened last December new investigative techniques and technology prompted officers to reclassify the death as murder.

Det Ch Insp Steve Porter from Gloucestershire Police has appealed for anyone with information to contact the force.
